5 for Friday

It's Friiiidaaayyy , Friidaaayyyy!! The week just flew by! Overall, this week was a pretty good one. I got a lot accomplished. I believe the fact that my friend, Dannielle, took me to Asheville for my Birthday might have had something to do with such a great week. Let's talk about that first!
Excuse my photo overload, but I am just so very grateful for my birthday celebration this year! I had so many wonderful friends and family members show me so much love that I was literally in tears all day from pure gratitude.  I have mentioned a few times about the death of my boyfriend Scott in June.  I was scared to death to have a birthday this year because I just knew it was going to be difficult.  I would be lying if I said it was easy. It was very difficult, but I had a good day! God taught me a lesson on that day.  Just because things are difficult doesn't mean they have to be miserable.  I'm growing in so many ways.  I'm still hurting every single day. It is the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I am still a blessed person!!! In the photos you will see some of my wonderful gifts as well as my weekend get away with Dannielle to the Biltmore in Asheville, NC.  :)

I will just briefly touch on this week's new TPT item because I just posted about it yesterday.   Our common core research template has been a big hit in 5th grade this week! The kiddos love it, and they are really doing an amazing job coming up with research questions!

I am not sure this is blogworthy, but for all you teachers on a budget (all of you) haha, this may help save some cash! I hot glued some thumbtacks on the back of a few safety pins to hold up some posters I had made.  It has actually been extremely handy for when I am changing my posters each week!! Cheap too!

So I am working on a really neat common core writing pack.  Writing has always been my favorite thing to teach, and I have had lots of success in the past.  With the new CCSSs, I have to tweak my resources a bit.  I have some great ideas! I can't wait to find the time to put things together for my kiddos! :) Stay tuned!

I want to leave you with this. One of my students made this for me the other day.  I thought it was the most beautiful way to sum up just about everything about life!  Kids are so smart sometimes. :)

Have a great weekend!

  1. Looks like you had a wonderful birthday weekend and Asheville is so beautiful!
Prayers you are comforted by the memories of your boyfriend and that you continue to find strength in the days ahead.
